never done with you (2026)

150 × 200 cm

flashe, wood pastel, aquarelle graphite on canvas

The song that started this painting is very romantic. As I was painting, a scene emerged in my imagination where I was surrendering my love to my beloved, offering all the ways that I wanted to love them, to be loved by them – open, curios and fully committed to ever deeper connection, until... we're done... and I never want to be done with you. never staying together because we think we should, but only ever because we truly, madly, deeply want to. Want to love, revere and open towards knowing ourselves and each other ever more deeply as we continue to evolve every day.

close to me (open my heart with your eyes)
caitlin, Sebastian Mullaert

lyrics

bring your body close to me

bring yourself completely

open my heart with your eyes

let me feel your heart

close to me

your love

close to me

lift me

with your love

lose yourself in me

These words are written onto the canvas with aquarelle graphite stick and integrated into the prayer/painting with every stroke.

Water from lake Oden in the Söderåsen National Park, near Malmö in southern Sweden – a place I go to paint, record music and commune with the forest a few times a year – is added to the paint, along with frankincense and holy water from Mt La Sainte Baume, Provence.
